Slovak households could start drawing support from EU funds to purchase and install small renewable energy sources in the second half of this year.

Slovaks households could soon use EU funds to purchase small renewable energy sources. Director of the communication department at the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency (SIEA) Eduard Jambor informed that the support scheme is expected to be available in the second half of this year. „Our agency will ensure the technical solution of the electronic system in put in place that will process and evaluate thousands of applications before launching the project. It is yet impossible to request this support. We recommend so that households who want to make sure to get a voucher for the installation of the device to wait until more particular conditions are revealed. We will make every effort to ensure that people may join the scheme as soon as possible,“ Jambor said. The Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency suggests that households receive vouchers after providing obligatory data. Vouchers can subsequently be used when home renewable sources are delivered and installed. The installation of small photovoltaic systems and wind turbines with the installed output up to 10 kW, solar collectors for heating water, heat pumps and biomass boilers will be supported under this scheme.
