Eustream has been transferring 50 percent less gas to Ukraine since May. According to European Commissioner Maros Sefcovic, every company strives for the biggest profitability of its operations and therefore the price is decisive when purchasing gas.

Slovak gas transmission company Eustream has invested approximately 20 million euros in the reconstruction of the obsolete pipeline between Slovak Vojany and Ukrainian Uzhgorod. Ukrainians could start purchasing gas from Slovakia since September 2014. Although the Ukrainians demanded increasing volumes of gas supplies from Slovakia, currently the capacity of Slovak-Ukraine reverse flow is used only to 50 percent. Eustream began recording reduced transported gas volumes since the beginning of May. „Gas volumes to customers via pipeline Vojany-Uzhgorod has slashed by almost a half since May,“ a spokesman for Eustream Vahram Chuguryan informed the portal vEnergetike.sk.
