Slovak motorists can request a state subsidy for the purchase of electric or hybrid car directly from their car sellers as of Friday, November 11.

Slovak motorists can receive a state subsidy for the purchase of electric or hybrid cars as of Friday, November 11. The project prepared by the economy ministry and the Automotive Industry Association will promote the purchase of these vehicles with a sum of € 5.2 million. „This is the first step in promoting electromobility in Slovakia. We have been inspired by a well-known scrappage scheme. We want to see more electric cars on our roads,“ Economy Minister Peter Ziga said at the press conference on Thursday. Funds for this project will be obtained from the Recycling Fund and the Automobile Association. The new cars fully with electric power will receive a subsidy of €5,000 and hybrid combination with the additional internal combustion engine €3,000. People must request these incentives directly from a car seller. The project will last until the end of 2017, respectively until the availability of funds. More than 1,000 new electric or hybrid vehicles could be supported in this way.
