SPP remains leader on Slovak gas market
State company SPP with highest gas supplies for all types of consumers.
Although nearly 30 suppliers operate on the natural gas market in Slovakia, the gas utility Slovensky Plynarensky Priemysel (SPP) maintained its dominant position. The state-owned company is a leader in gas supplies in regard to all types of consumers. The data published by the Regulatory Office for Network Industry showed than most Slovak households remained loyal to SPP despite several-year market liberalization. SPP achieved a 67-percent share in this category last year, followed by the company innogy Slovensko with more than 15-percent share and ZSE Energia with 8-percent share. The gas market for all consumers is more divided. SPP managed to keep over 50-percent share also in this segment.
