All three distribution companies state that installation of smart meters advances under the plan.
Slovakia is in the second half time of the installation of smart meters. In two years, all electricity consumers with the annual consumption over 4 MWh are expected to have a smart meter instead of the old meters. The smart meter will provide comfort and savings. All three distribution companies responsible for the installation of smart meters claim that everything advances as planned and in line with legislation. Smart meters have been installed by already 131,000 consumers. Zapadoslovenska Distribucna (ZSD) managed to install 33,000 smart meters by the end of last year, Vychodoslovenska Distribucna (VSD) 45,000 and Stredoslovenska Distribucna (SSD) (Stredoslovenska Energetika – Distribucia by the end of March) almost 53,000 smart meters.
