Opposition MPs claim that the third block generates electricity despite failing to comply with emission limits
The opposition party SaS is convening an extraordinary Parliament’s Economic Committee in connection with the power plant in Novaky. The deputy chairman of the committee, Jana Kissova (SAS), claims that the the third block of the thermal power plant in Novaky, which has not been reconstructed, is in operation. „Blocks one and two undergo technological innovation for 40 million euros in 2015. Slovenske Elektrarne decided to shut down the third and fourth blocks permanently. The third block has never fulfilled new emission limits and has not undergone any modification. No procedure preceded its re-launch and there is absence of the permissions. At least, they cannot be found in places where they should be published,“ Kissova said at the press conference on Monday.
