Sale contract on power utility SE to be signed by Christmas

Italian company Enel and Czech energy group EPH have reached an agreement on all commercial and contractual terms of the transaction. The entry of the new shareholder will be possible only after fulfilling several conditions precedent.

Czech energy group EPH has agreed with the Italian company Enel to the purchase of the stake in the power utility Slovenske Elektrarne, informed a spokesman for EPH, Daniel Castvaj, on Tuesday. „We can confirm that EPH and Enel have reached an agreement on all commercial and contractual terms of the transaction. The sale contract has not yet been signed, therefore we will not provide more information until then,“ Castvaj added. According to the information of the portal vEnergetike.sk, both sides are expected to sign documents concerning the sale before Christmas. However, the new investor will have to meet several conditions precedent before entering the Slovak dominant electricity producer. This may take several months.
