According to the regulator, new directives will increase quality of services provided by suppliers of electricity, gas, heat and water to Slovak households.

The new regulation period, which will run from 2017 to 2021, is accompanied by several changes in the regulation of energy prices and quality standards. The Regulatory Office for Network Industries (URSO) has prepared new rules in all regulated sectors. The new directives worked up by the Office have already undergone the review process and will come into effect in January 2017. „These changes will clearly increase the protection of consumers‘ rights, but at the same time they fully respect and ensure the stability of the market environment,“ said the chairman of the Office, Jozef Holjencik.
