Currently, electricity producers are charged for the access to the grid for 30% of the installed capacity. According to a member of the board of directors of Zapadoslovenska Distribucna, Marian Kapec, it would be logical if manufacturers paid G-tariff at 100% of the installed capacity which could reduce the price of electricity for consumers.

Distribution companies have tried to convince the regulator so that electricity producers paid for the access to the distribution and transmission grid, a so-called G-tariff, for the entire installed capacity. Currently, they are charged for 30% of the installed capacity. According to a member of the board of directors of Zapadoslovenska Distribucna, Marian Kapec, it would be logical if manufacturers paid G-tariff at 100% of the installed capacity just like consumers pay 100% of the installed capacity, respectively a reserved capacity. He said this in an interview for the portal vEnergetike.sk. Kopec says that this change could positively affect customers’ bills. He says that if the fee for the access to the distribution grid is set at 100% of the installed capacity, customers would pay less for the access to the distribution grid.
