Cabinet approves first changes in power sector
Ministers approved the draft amendment to the Energy Act.
The Cabinet approved the draft amendment to the Energy Act on Wednesday. The changes in the amendment concern in particular the EC’s additional requirements on the transposition of the Third Energy Package. “The draft bill stipulates the emergency in the power sector, emergency prevention and testing, related rights and obligations of the electricity market players, emergency announcing and reporting and limiting measures,“ the economy ministry stated. The new terms definitions related to the electromobility have been introduced in the bill. The amendment is expected to lift the obligations of energy consumer. Changes in the Energy Act will affect particularly businessmen planning to do business in gas distribution.
