Slovenske Elektrarne rejects any shortcomings in the completion of the third and fourth nuclear unit in Mochovce.

The Austrians are once again attacking the completion of the third and fourth nuclear unit in Mochovce. The anti-nuclear organization Global 2000, referring to an anonymous source, claims that the massive 1.5-meter wide containment building of the new reactor in Mochovce is not safe enough since it was drilled through and technologies were anchored in it. “We are strongly against the fake news about the new nuclear units in Mochovce that is being spread by the organization via the Austrian media,“ Miroslav Sarissky, a spokesman for Slovenske Elektrarne stressed for the news agency SITA. According to Slovenske Elektrarne, the statement of the Austrian organization is misleading and false. “This shows an absolute lack of knowledge about the complex projects aimed at increasing seismic resistance of existing nuclear power plants and those under construction and creates fear and panic among the citizens of Austria and Slovakia,“ Sarissky added.
