Energeticky a Prumyslovy Holding disapproves of the failure of the Slovak government to keep its promise given in 2012 that regulated companies will stop paying the non-system tax after December 2016.

The amendment to the Act on special levy imposed on regulated entities, which will double this levy, was passed on Wednesday. The amendment will probably be brought to the court. Energeticky a Prumyslovy Holding (EPH), which owns several energy companies across Slovakia, will attempt to cancel this levy at the court and international arbitration. „Special sector taxes, including the special business levy imposed on regulated entities, are strictly limited in the European Union. The special levy adopted in Slovakia violates the European rules,“ a spokesman for EPH, Daniel Castvaj, replied to the questions of the portal vEnergetike.sk.
