The Eastring pipeline is closer to its construction. The Slovak gas transporter, the company Eustream, has signed a grant agreement with European Union’s Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA). A spokesman for Eustream Pavol Kubik informed the portal vEnergetike.sk under this agreement, the company may begin to draw the EU subsidy for the feasibility study of the planned pan-European Eastring gas pipeline. „Feasibility study will be funded under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) with the sum up to one million eur, or 50 percent of the eligible costs,“ added Kubik. The aim of the planned detailed feasibility study is to define the optimal technical and other parameters of the project, including the possible routing options. „The results of the feasibility study will serve as basis for the final investment decision on the project,“ added Kubik.
